What a way to answer your critics! Take a bow Sally Pearson.
The Olympic gold medallist put the drama of this week well and truly behind her as she jumped ahead of her rivals to win her 100m hurdle heat.
Pearson is now the $1.36 favourite to win the gold medal in the final ahead of England’s Tiffany Porter, offering the only real challenge at odds of $3.00.
Pearson’s odds had drifted to $1.80 yesterday on the back of the controversy but she now sits at her shortest price to date.
There also two other Aussie hopes going into the 100m hurdle final in Michelle Jenneke ($276) and Shannon McCann ($201).
“Easy to see why Eric is lost for words since his sacking, he didn’t know what he was talking about to begin with. Fair play to Sally and our betting says she’ll have the last, somewhat golden laugh on the matter,’’ sportsbet.com.au’s Will Byrne said.
